Okiwi is trained in NZAMD, Glenn Wood Tap and RAD. Okiwi trained at the National Academy of Dramatic Arts studying Musical Theatre. Okiwi has appeared in Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park, and NZ Cancer Society Ball as well as musicals such as JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOUR DREAMCOAT, CATS, THE MUSIC MAN, MOTHER COURAGE, 42nd STREET, and MISS SAIGON.
Okiwi is a well-diverse choreographer, with works from competition dancing, commercial events, musicals and more. When younger Okiwi competed throughout New Zealand at PACANZ for Tap and Jazz, awarded the Noel Burnet Tap Award, the New Zealand Dance Awards Musical Theatre Supreme award and also competed at Showcase Australia. Okiwi has had success with gaining positions on Royal Caribbean Cruise lines and also Australian TV shows. Okiwi was also lucky enough to be picked as a cultural adviser for Team New Zealand at Hip Hop Unite Worlds in Portugal, Okiwi was also on the panel of judges at Hip Hop Unite Worlds in Portugal.

Ebony has been dancing since age 3 at JK Performing arts. While there, she was trained in many styles of dance such as ballet, tap, hip-hop, jazz, contemporary, musical theatre, highland dance, as well competing at both national and international events. She then continued her training in Sydney doing a fulltime dance course at VILLAGE NATION. After retuning home she became a head tutor at JK Performing Arts where she does weekly teaching, choreographing and designing dance and theatre performance work. She has also worked as a judge for NZ DANCE AWARDS and IMPACT DANCE EXPERIENCE for both the regionals and nationals.
